Pineapple Bun Keyring DIY Workshop (Special Activity for Hong Kong ICH Month 2026)

The Pineapple Bun is a renowned Hong Kong specialty, and the “Pineapple Bun Making Technique” has been inscribed on Hong Kong's Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory. To complement the “Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Month 2026”, the Science Promotion Unit will organise a time-limited “Pineapple Bun Keyring DIY Workshop”. Participants will use flour clay to craft their own pineapple bun keyring, while learning about the composition of flour and its role in forming the bread dough.

Date: 13 June 2026 (Saturday)
Time: 13:30 – 17:20 (20-minute sessions)
Venue: Laboratory, G/F, Hong Kong Science Museum
Quota: 16 participants per session
Fee: Free of charge
Suitable for: Aged 3 or above (Participants aged 3 – 12 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian)
Participation method: Please queue in person at the venue during the designated ticket distribution times below to collect an admission ticket. Each person may collect only one ticket per distribution time slot. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while quotas last.

Points to Note:

  1. Admission tickets will be distributed on-site at the designated times. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, while quotas last.
  2. Participants must queue in person to collect tickets. Each person may collect only one ticket per distribution time slot. Queuing on behalf of others, collecting more than one ticket in the same slot, or using personal belongings to hold a place in line is not allowed. Members of the same group must queue together. Latecomers are not allowed to join friends or family already in the queue.
  3. Each ticket admits one person and provides one set of materials.
  4. Ticket holders must arrive at the venue 5 minutes before the session starts. Failure to arrive by the start time will result in their place being offered to walk-ins. Staff will check tickets prior to the start of each session.
  5. Participants must follow the instructions of the instructor and staff throughout the activity.
  6. Participants should take care of their belongings. The organiser shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage.
  7. Photos and video footage will be taken during the activity. Participation implies consent to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department’s use of the related images and videos across various media platforms free of charge.
  8. The activity may be adjusted or cancelled due to adverse weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Final arrangements will be announced on-site and are subject to change without prior notice.
  9. In case of any disputes, the organiser reserves the right of final decision.
