“Art@Harbour 2024 - Science in Art” Scientist Sharing Session: Is this cat awake or asleep? Dabbling in Quantum Mechanics from Art Pieces

Inspired by the interesting properties of light, the artists created two sets of art installations infusing science and art for the “Science in Art” exhibition. The Science Promotion Unit hopes to arouse the audience's curiosity about science through the artworks, and further explore the related scientific knowledge. We will invite Dr. David YU, Lecturer of the Faculty of Science of the University of Hong Kong and a popular science book author, to introduce Schrodinger’s cat experiment, wave-particle duality of light, photoelectric effect, and some other interesting quantum effects to the public. *The "Science in Art" project, with the theme of exploring the nature and properties of light, showcases two sets of interactive art installations, namely "Harbour Cup" created by the local art group LAAB Architects and "Schrodinger's Bed" by artist Dylan Kwok.
